Solopos.com , BEIJING - A car bomb explosion occurred in Urumqi , capital of Xinjiang province , western China , killing 31 people and wounding 90 others , Thursday ( 22/05/2014 ) .
As reported by China's Central Television , the explosion occurred when two vehicles crashed into the crowd at one of the morning market in Urumqi . Allegedly , explosives placed in one of these cars so that one vehicle was destroyed .
China's domestic security chief , Xi , suspect the incident was an act of terrorism kelompol Chinese militants . Previously also been a series of violent acts over the past few months the group allegedly separatist militants from Xinjiang .
" The police will increase patrols and security controls in places thought to be a terrorist target in order to prevent further impacts , " he said as quoted by Reuters .
Xi confirms local authorities to solve the case quickly and provide the best care for the wounded . The Chinese government also expressed condolences to the families of victims of the incident .
So far the injured victim was rushed to the hospital for more intensive care given . Meanwhile , security forces have started an investigation to find the perpetrators and the motive of the incident .
